Feature Requests: use sketch in-app

The "Image Weight" slider is unclear. It feels like it does nothing (with clone, and thus I would expect with merge, since I believe they use the same tech on the reference image).
Is there any way to use a sketch within the app (vs. sketching in a separate app and uploading the resulting image) as a controlnet image input?
